Celebrating Cultural Connections
Five dedicated students from Bosworth Independent School embarked on a rewarding and memorable visit to St Peter’s School in Kettering….
At Bosworth Independent School, helping students achieve their future ambitions is central to the Sixth Form experience. Through personalised guidance, careers support, and opportunities to explore a wide range of pathways, we ensure that every student is prepared for the next stage of their academic journey.
Lisa, our Director of Sixth Form, plays a key role in guiding students through this process. She works closely with Sixth Form students on both UK and international university applications and organises careers and university events throughout the year to inspire and inform students.

“Seeing students gain confidence as they discover their own strengths is one of the most rewarding parts of my role.”
Beginning the University Journey
Preparation for university begins early at Bosworth. In the summer term of Year 12, students take part in sessions to explore different progression pathways and research courses and universities. Platforms such as Unifrog and the UCAS Hub help students investigate degree courses, entry requirements, and career pathways. Bosworth’s comprehensive Higher Education Preparation programme provides additional guidance, equipping students with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed.
Throughout the year, students hear from external speakers and university representatives. This year, Bosworth welcomed visitors from University College London and The University Guys. Bosworth also hosts a university fair with representatives from 25 leading universities, and Year 12 students attend the UCAS and Apprenticeship Fair in Birmingham.
Personalised Guidance and Support
Every student’s journey is unique. Alongside group sessions, students benefit from one-to-one meetings with personal tutors and Lisa.
Lisa explains:
“I aim to give each student the time and space to reflect on what matters to them. These conversations often spark real confidence and clarity.”
Supporting Individual Ambitions
Research and exploration are at the heart of progression at Bosworth. Students are encouraged to investigate all opportunities so they can make informed decisions about their next steps.
Lisa adds:
“Each student has their own ambitions, and no two paths are the same. My goal is to make sure every student can find the route that’s right for them.”
Empowering Students to Achieve Their Ambitions
Bosworth Independent School welcomes students pursuing varied academic and professional ambitions. Recognising every student as an individual, the School empowers students to thrive within and beyond the classroom. In 2025, Bosworth students progressed to top UK destinations including Durham University, Imperial College London, and University of Warwick – all top 10 UK universities. You can view the full list of destinations here.
A Global and Inspiring School Community
Bosworth is proud of its diverse, international community, which enriches learning and inspires students every day.
Lisa reflects:
“The diversity here is incredible. Students bring different experiences and perspectives, and that creates a vibrant environment where everyone learns from each other.” At Bosworth, preparing students for university is about more than completing applications. It’s about helping students discover their strengths, grow in confidence, and develop the skills they need to succeed in the next stage of their journey.
As students move closer to their next chapter, Bosworth continues to support them every step of the way. Through personalised guidance, a strong university preparation programme, and a supportive international community, students leave Bosworth ready to take on the opportunities ahead. Whether progressing to leading UK universities or exploring global pathways, Bosworth students are equipped with the confidence, knowledge, and ambition to shape their future.
