When can we come and look around?

We typically take students from 11 to 19 years of age across a variety of courses as day and boarding students.

How early do we need to register interest?

The earlier a student signs up for the following academic year the more likely we are to be able to offer all subject choices and accommodation preferences.

We are currently home to 38 different nationalities and welcome the diversity this brings to the school.

UK students – 40%
International students – 60%

How big are the classes?

The average class size is 12 students.

What are the timings of the school day?
+

The school day runs from 08.30 to 15.45. A daily co-curricular programme runs until 5pm. For boarders, dinner is held at 6pm with social and study time afterwards.

What level of English do I require if English is not my first language?

The level of English required varies for each programme:
GCSE IELTS 5.5 or equivalent
A-level IELTS 5.5-6.5 or equivalent
University Foundation Programmes IELTS 5.5 or equivalent
English Language Courses IELTS 4.5 or equivalent

If you’re under the age of 18 and do not hold an English language certificate, we will ask you to do our internal English test to determine your current level.

What type of boarding accommodation do you have?

We have six fully-supervised boarding houses divided by gender, where students reside with a houseparent. These offer a mixture of single and twin rooms in each property as well as a common room and kitchen area where students may make drinks and light snacks. All meals are provided at Bosworth Hall, the social hub of the school.

What can students do outside of lessons?

We try to encourage both boarding and day students to take part in our extra-curricular activities. Every week we offer the following sports in the evening: basketball, football, badminton and volleyball. Rock School also runs every Tuesday evening. Every term we offer weekend trips and activities that students can sign up for and we offer a variety of options from places of interest such as; Cambridge and Oxford to activities like Rock Climbing and Go Karting, local theatre trips, theme parks, university visits and Christmas and Summer Balls. Students have plenty to get involved with as well as enrichment activities that they can opt to take once a week.

Can we pay the fees in installments?

We ask for the fee to be paid in two instalments and will explain the timings of this when a place is offered. Any other arrangement for payment of fees is to be discussed with the Headmaster.

What are your term dates for this academic year?

Do you take external candidates to sit exams?
+

Yes, we are able to register external candidates to take exams with us. We will put you in contact with Mrs Barnes (Exams Officer) who will explain exactly what we can offer and the cost per exam.

Do you offer one-to-one lessons for full time students?

We are able to offer one-to-one sessions to our students due to the flexibility of our timetable and staff.

Are you a Tier 4 Sponsor?

Bosworth is licensed as a Tier 4 Sponsor which enables us to offer places to international students. Once you accept your provisional offer and fees have been paid we can generate the confirmation of acceptance (CAS) of study you will require for the visa application.
