Why Choose A Level Spanish?

If you enjoyed studying Spanish at GCSE, continuing to A Level is an excellent way to further develop your language skills and cultural understanding. Learning a modern foreign language is a valuable lifelong skill that opens doors in education, employment, and travel.

Studying Spanish at A Level allows students to explore the cultures, societies, and current issues across the Spanish-speaking world, while gaining a broader understanding of today’s increasingly global society. Our AQA Spanish A Level course is taught over two years, with examinations at the end of the course.

Entry Requirements

This course is best suited to students achieving a Grade 6 or above at GCSE Spanish.

Students should enjoy communicating in Spanish and be confident in reading, writing, speaking, and sharing ideas. The course builds on the strong grammatical foundation and communication skills developed at GCSE.

Throughout the course, students study a wide range of topics linked to contemporary society, culture, politics, and artistic expression across the Spanish-speaking world.
