Community Partnerships

At Bosworth Independent School, we believe education extends far beyond the classroom. Our community partnerships play a vital role in helping students develop compassion, responsibility and a strong sense of global and local citizenship.

Through meaningful collaborations with local charities, healthcare providers and humanitarian organisations, our students are encouraged to engage with real-world issues, support those in need and contribute positively to society. These partnerships provide valuable opportunities for volunteering, fundraising and skills development, empowering students to make a genuine difference while preparing them for life beyond school.

Foodkind

Bosworth Independent School is proud to continue its partnership with Foodkind, a local not-for-profit, zero-waste social enterprise that provides sustainable and affordable food and daily essentials through its social supermarket. Foodkind plays an important role in supporting both the environment and the wider Northamptonshire community.

At Bosworth, we collaborate with Foodkind in several meaningful ways. Our students run a school shop, where 100% of profits are donated directly to Foodkind. Managed by members of the Charity Committee and Duke of Edinburgh participants, the shop sells surplus food snacks and essential items to the school community every Wednesday and Friday during lunch. Since September 2025, Bosworth students have raised over £600, demonstrating their commitment to social responsibility and community impact.

We also organise pop-up shops for special occasions in boarding and in collaboration with local community groups, including the Police. These events celebrate festivals such as Christmas, Eid, Diwali and Chinese New Year, bringing together multi-faith organisations and key community partners. These collaborations have been a highlight of our fundraising and community engagement work.

In addition, Bosworth students volunteer off-site at the Foodkind community supermarket. Through weekly public-facing roles, students engage directly with members of the local community while developing valuable life and professional skills, including customer service, money handling, stock management, timekeeping, teamwork, empathy and kindness.

Red Cross

At Bosworth we work closely with the regional Red Cross office to enhance students’ understanding of the vital humanitarian work carried out by the International Red Cross and Red Crescent across the world.

Through this partnership, students develop empathy, global awareness and a strong sense of civic responsibility. Bosworth students have led assemblies sharing the history, values and life-saving work of the Red Cross, encouraging wider student involvement through volunteering, fundraising and awareness-raising activities.

The Society has organised events such as non-uniform days, bake sales and fundraising games, helping to support the charity’s work while strengthening our school community.

In addition, Red Cross training staff have delivered emergency first aid and crisis management training to Society members. Students from Key Stages 3–5 are now proud recipients of certificates in emergency first aid, equipping them with practical skills that extend far beyond the classroom.

Hope – Supporting the Local Homeless Community

Bosworth Independent School is committed to supporting vulnerable members of the local community through its partnership with Hope, a charity supporting people experiencing homelessness.

Our Environment Committee is currently working to repurpose an outdoor space at the local Hope Centre, transforming it into a community garden designed to offer a safe area for relaxation and recreation. This ambitious project reflects our students’ strong sense of civic duty and desire to make a meaningful, lasting contribution.

During the winter period, every Personal Tutor group at Bosworth created a donation box for local homeless individuals. These donations made an immediate and meaningful impact during one of the most challenging times of year for those experiencing homelessness.

We look forward to continuing our work with Hope, raising awareness and supporting their invaluable work within the local community.

Northampton General Hospital

In September 2025 Bosworth School began a partnership with Northampton General.  Students can volunteer at Northampton General Hospital. Our special arrangement with them provides volunteering opportunities for our students.

This has led to 12 students having an interview at Northampton General Hospital for a variety of volunteering roles.  These opportunities are particularly useful for any student who would like a career in the NHS and will provide an invaluable addition to their applications. Once students have been interviewed and selected for a role, they will then have access to talks from professionals from a range of career pathways in the NHS.
