Tony Oulton is an experienced educator and leader, currently serving as the Headteacher of Bosworth Independent School. Educated at the University of Oxford, Tony has held several prominent positions in the education sector, including Principal of Hulme Grammar School and Acting Principal of Pimlico Academy. He has also been Head of Sixth Form at St Albans High School for Girls, and Head of Department and Oxbridge Coordinator at Woldingham School. Known for his strategic vision, strong business acumen, and commitment to student well-being, Tony is passionate about delivering academic excellence and transforming the school experience for every student.
Mr. Hodgson holds a BA (Honours) in Education from Cardiff and began his teaching career in Birmingham. He then moved to Northamptonshire, where he became Assistant Headteacher, focusing on pastoral care and safeguarding. In 2021, he joined Bosworth Independent School as Assistant Headteacher: Pastoral, and in 2022, he became Deputy Headmaster. He oversees student and staff welfare, progress, and satisfaction at Bosworth. Mr. Hodgson believes education is key to personal and intellectual growth, enabling people to view the world through different perspectives.
Mr. Shipway earned a BSc (Hons) in Physiology and PGCE from the University of York. With over 30 years of experience in independent schools, he has held roles including Head of Science, Head of Biology, Boarding Housemaster, Deputy Head, and Headmaster. In 2022, he moved to Northampton and later joined Bosworth Independent School in 2023 as Head of Boarding. Mr. Shipway leads the boarding team, ensuring students’ pastoral needs are met for their academic and personal success. He also serves as an ISI Team Inspector.
Mrs. Coverdale studied English with History at Northampton and holds a Certificate of Education from the University of Leicester. She has worked in a variety of roles, including Head of Year and Senior Pastoral Leader, and is passionate about training new teachers. She joined Bosworth in 2022 as Assistant Headteacher for Pastoral Care and Personal Development. Mrs. Coverdale leads on safeguarding, welfare, attendance, behaviour, and rewards, as well as PSHE, RSE, and co-curricular activities. She believes education is a powerful tool for personal and community growth.
