Life at Bosworth

Bosworth Hall and three of our supervised boarding houses overlook a five-acre park called The Racecourse.

Life and learning beyond the classroom

Our rich co-curricular programme is a vital part of life at Bosworth, offering students a wide range of opportunities to explore their passions, develop new skills, and grow in confidence. Whether through sport, music, art, drama, or more specialised clubs such as debating, chess, or drone building, students are encouraged to pursue their interests and step beyond the boundaries of the classroom.

Regular sports fixtures, performances, exhibitions, and competitions give them a platform to showcase their talents and hard work, while also learning the values of dedication, creativity, and teamwork.

Developing social responsibility

Beyond individual pursuits, our co-curricular activities also foster a strong sense of community and encourage students to understand and take seriously their responsibility as citizens of the world.

Students take part in meaningful outreach projects within the local area, engaging with the wider community through volunteering, partnerships, and charitable initiatives. Whether it’s raising funds for local and international causes, organising events to support others, helping to teach foreign languages in local primary schools, or participating in community service, students are actively encouraged to make a positive impact on the world around them.

These experiences help nurture qualities such as empathy, leadership, and integrity — vital characteristics for personal growth and future success.
At Bosworth, we believe that education is about more than just academic achievement; it’s about shaping well-rounded, thoughtful individuals who are prepared to thrive in all aspects of life.

Sampling the world of work

At Bosworth, we place great importance on preparing students for life beyond school, and meaningful work experience is a key part of that journey.
We actively support students in arranging placements that align with their individual aspirations, helping them gain valuable insight into the careers they may one day pursue.

For example, aspiring medics regularly undertake work experience at Northampton General Hospital, where they can accumulate up to 100 hours of hands-on exposure to the healthcare environment — a crucial step in strengthening university applications and confirming their career goals.

We also draw on the strength of our alumni and parent network to connect students with local employers across a wide range of industries, from law and business to engineering and the creative arts.

These real-world experiences not only enhance students’ understanding of professional environments, but also help them develop key skills such as communication, initiative, and professionalism — all essential as they take their next steps beyond Bosworth.

The School Day

The school day starts at 09:00 and runs until 15:45. Students in Years 7 to 11 will have lessons throughout the day; students in Year 12 and 13 will have lessons and study halls. All students are expected to remain in school during the day. This is monitored through a regular registration system.

Students have access to Wifi to support homework and self-study requirements. Internet restrictions are in place to avoid social media distraction, which supports focused study and prepares for further independent time management at university and beyond.

Northampton – Heart of England

Bosworth Independent School is located in Northampton, a town with a rich and distinguished history, situated in the heart of England. With London, Oxford or Birmingham only an hour away by road or rail, it is the perfect learning environment in a central location.

Northampton is a large market town with lots to offer in terms of tourism, entertainment, leisure and shopping. The town is surrounded by beautiful countryside. Because of its central location, we are only an hour away from other tourist locations such as; Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwick, Cambridge, Oxford and London.

Northampton offers the perfect environment for our students with the town centre just a fifteen-minute walk from the School, where students can enjoy the leisure and shopping facilities. The School’s location, however, promotes focus on study as the distractions of a bustling city centre are not right on our doorstep.
