Year 7 Student Competes at ISA National Athletics Finals

At Bosworth School, we believe that Physical Education is about far more than developing sporting ability. Through our curriculum and co-curricular programme, we encourage students to build confidence, resilience and a lifelong enjoyment of physical activity, while providing opportunities to participate, compete, lead and represent the school beyond the classroom.

We are delighted to celebrate the success of Year 7 student David, who recently competed at the Independent Schools Association (ISA) National Athletics Finals at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham.

David put in a fantastic performance, finishing 7th in the Year 7 100m final before helping the Midlands team secure 4th place in the 4 × 100m relay final. It was a fantastic achievement against some of the country’s most talented young athletes.

The event also provided a memorable experience for David and the other Year 7 students, who enjoyed the opportunity to watch athletics of an exceptionally high standard at one of the UK’s premier sporting venues.

Physical Education is studied by all students throughout Key Stage 3, where a broad and balanced curriculum helps students develop physical literacy alongside teamwork, leadership, communication and resilience. Beyond lessons, students can choose from a wide range of co-curricular sporting opportunities, including football, basketball, badminton, golf, tennis, snooker, running and access to our Health and Fitness Suite. Students with a passion for sport can also continue their journey through GCSE Physical Education at Key Stage 4.

As a proud member of the Independent Schools Association (ISA), Bosworth School provides students with opportunities to compete against schools across the region and nationally. These experiences allow students to challenge themselves, develop their talents and gain valuable experience in competitive sport.
