Success at Model United Nations for Bosworth Students

Over the course of the term, students have developed a strong understanding of how the United Nations operates, while building essential skills in research, public speaking and diplomacy. Through regular sessions, they have learned how to prepare position papers, draft resolutions and confidently represent a range of countries and perspectives. This has not only strengthened their academic knowledge but also enhanced their ability to think critically about complex global issues.

Their efforts culminated in an exciting visit to CATS Cambridge, where they took part in a Model United Nations conference alongside students from other schools. Representing Bosworth with maturity and professionalism, all seven students fully immersed themselves in the experience, contributing to a variety of committees, including the Security Council and ECOSOC.

Throughout the conference, our students demonstrated impressive confidence, resilience and sensitivity in debate. Their preparation and dedication were clearly reflected in their success, with the group returning to Bosworth with awards for Best Delegate and Best Speaker—a fantastic achievement and a testament to their hard work.

The visit concluded with a walk through the historic city of Cambridge, offering students a chance to reflect on their experience and celebrate their achievements together.

We are incredibly proud of all the students involved for their commitment, teamwork and willingness to challenge themselves in a new and inspiring environment.

Year 12 student reflection:
“Being part of the MUN conference gave me the opportunity to step out of my comfort zone, build my confidence and develop my public speaking skills. Participating in the Economics and Social Council was especially valuable, as it allowed me to express my ideas on global economic issues more clearly while growing both academically and personally.”
