Graduation 2025 at Bosworth Independent School

On Friday 2nd May, Bosworth hosted graduation for our Year 13 and Year 11 students. The Grand Hall in the Newton Building was filled with their teachers, friends and parents, all gathered to celebrate their achievements.

For Year 11, graduation marks the end of their GCSE studies and the start of exam season. Many are looking forward to embarking on their A Levels with us in September.

For Year 13, graduation concludes their studies at Bosworth. Once exams are over and results in, these students will be progressing to top UK universities for their undergraduate studies. It is a bittersweet event as they say goodbye to friends and teachers, but many are also looking forward to starting university and the new adventures that await them. The Grand Hall was filled with cheers and claps as students received their leaving certificates, recognising their hard work and determination over the last two years. For some, graduation was the culmination of four or more years at Bosworth. We are delighted to have shared in their journeys.

Graduation Ceremony

At Bosworth, graduation always commences with Year 11 and Year 13 students processing into the Grand Hall. This year, Michael Hodgson, Deputy Head, opened the ceremony with encouraging words for the graduates. Bianca, one of our Head Students, delivered a speech encouraging the graduating classes to be bold and brave in their next steps. “Be bold, be brave” was the theme for graduation, with our speakers encouraging our students to take risks, to be confident and resilient as they move forward. Speeches were also delivered by the heads of Year 11 and Year 13, Zahara Champsey and Paul Boothman, who offered wise advice to their year groups.

Our guest speaker was Ben Francoise, a local business owner and entrepreneur. He spoke about the value of education and the different directions that life can take individuals. He encouraged our graduates to embrace the opportunities of life and to utilise their learning for good.

Michael Hodgson delivered a heartfelt closing speech on graduation, encouraging students to be bold and brave before introducing Year 13 student, Vlada. To close the graduation event, Vlada explained a special Bosworth tradition. In recent years, graduating classes have come together to plant a tree on school grounds as a way to mark their time at the school and to remain connected to Bosworth. Vlada led her fellow graduates outside to plant the tree.

Of course, there was the compulsory cap throwing photo opportunity before the students left school to prepare for their Summer Ball.
