Student Achievements

Duke of Edinburgh Silver Award

We are delighted to congratulate Hannah on successfully completing her Silver Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

Over the course of her award, Hannah demonstrated real commitment, resilience, and a willingness to challenge herself across all sections.

For her Volunteering section, she supported the school shop, helping to raise funds for the local charity Foodkind, which supports vulnerable members of the community.

In her Physical section, Hannah took part in both yoga and gymnastics, developing strength, flexibility, and perseverance. For her Skill section, she chose to continue developing her passion for art, building on her creativity and showing real dedication to improving her work.

A key highlight of her award was completing two challenging expeditions in the Peak District and the Shropshire Hills. These required teamwork, navigation, and determination, all of which she demonstrated throughout.

Reflecting on her experience, Hannah said:
“Completing my DofE expedition was such a great accomplishment. Planning our daily routes and organising bags as a group really helped me improve both my resilience and my independence.”

We are incredibly proud of Hannah’s achievement and the positive approach she brought to every stage of the award.

British Biology Olympiad 2026

We are delighted to celebrate the success of our Year 12 students who took part in the 2026 British Biology Olympiad, one of the most challenging national competitions designed to stretch students’ understanding of advanced biological concepts and problem-solving skills.

With nearly 19,000 students entering each year, the Olympiad represents an exceptional academic challenge, and our students approached it with real focus, curiosity, and determination.

We are incredibly proud that a number of students were awarded Gold, Silver, and Bronze certificates, along with several commendations for outstanding performance. In particular, two students achieved the highest Gold award, placing them in the top 5% of participants nationwide, a truly outstanding achievement.

Their success reflects not only their academic ability, but also their enthusiasm for the subject and commitment to going beyond the classroom curriculum.

Well done to all students who took part,  we are extremely proud of your achievement.
