From Year 9 to A Levels: Naz’s Journey at Bosworth

At Bosworth Independent School, we take pride in supporting our students not only academically, but personally, as they prepare for their future. This year, we are delighted to celebrate the achievements of Year 13 student Naz, who joined us in Year 9 and has now secured outstanding A Level results on her path to studying medicine at the University of Leicester.

Finding the Right School

Naz first came to Bosworth from a much larger school. Looking for a change of environment and more personalised support, she was drawn to Bosworth’s smaller class sizes, passionate teachers, and diverse community.

“The school was a lot smaller than what I was used to, but with that came a tight-knit community of students and teachers. Another thing I found unique about Bosworth was the diversity of nationalities, which enriched my experience at the school immensely.”

Academic and Personal Support

Over her five years with us, Naz found that Bosworth provided more than excellent teaching. The encouragement and independence instilled in her have helped shape both her academic achievements and her personal growth.

“The academic support I have received at Bosworth is indisputable, but they have also equipped me with the skills to study independently… Teachers are more familiar with our personalities and see us as individuals. They help out with any personal problems we are having and ensure we deal with situations in the best way possible.”

Beyond the Classroom

Naz’s experience was also enriched through student leadership and the Duke of Edinburgh Award. These opportunities allowed her to develop valuable skills, build connections across year groups, and strengthen her university application.

“Student leadership is a great way to connect with people in the school… The Duke of Edinburgh Award was a very memorable experience where I developed skills such as map-reading and resourcefulness. I was also able to have a good time with my teammates, which I’ll never forget!”

Achieving A Level Success

Preparing for A Levels is a challenge for any student, but Naz credits consistency, balance, and the support around her for helping her achieve such strong results.

“Consistency of revision is more important than time spent revising… During A-level exams, I spent 4–6 hours revising a day, but I didn’t deprive myself of enjoyment or sleep. Your family, friends and school environment play a big role in helping you manage… I am beyond grateful to all of them.”

Looking Ahead

Naz’s ambition is to become a doctor, with dreams of specialising in the future and perhaps even undertaking an additional degree. She also hopes to keep in touch with the friends she made at Bosworth, friends from across the globe.

“Bosworth has prepared me academically, as I now know what works for me in terms of revising, and as a person, I have become a resilient and more understanding person after these five years of studying here.”

Naz’s journey is a testament to the values we hold at Bosworth- academic excellence, personal growth, and a community that empowers students to thrive.

We are immensely proud of Naz’s achievements and excited to see the incredible future she will build.
